Police are searching for the driver of a car which overturned and caught fire in the early hours of Sunday morning (February 20).

Firefighters were called to the car, which had ended up on its roof, on Headcorn Road, Hawkenbury, near Staplehurst, at just after 4am.

The road had to be closed for just over an hour as a result of the accident.

However, there was no driver in the car - a Ford Fiesta, which is not thought to have been stolen - when emergency services arrived.
