Buses will be diverted out of Maidstone town centre this weekend as part of work to regenerate the High Street.
The move, which will see the High Street closed to all traffic for five days from Friday evening, will mean buses must take a different route to and from the Chequers bus station.
Bus operators have warned it could mean long diversions and town centre bus stops will be moved into Mill Street and Lower Stone Street temporarily.
Work is being carried out in Pudding Lane and the High Street, including resurfacing of the road in the High Street and will be completed by Tuesday.
There are notices at affected bus stops and leaflets about the temporary changes are available at the Arriva shop in the Mall Chequers.
