Police send four cars and a van to incident in Bank Street, Maidstone

Four police cars and a van have descended on a town centre street this afternoon.

Officers were in Bank Street, Maidstone at around 4pm to deal with one man.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.30pm to reports a man had assaulted a PCSO.

"A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and was taken into custody."

One man was seen lying on the floor while police spoke to him, all vehicles have now left the scene.
