We test out Greene King pub's Halloween offer at the Druids Arms in Maidstone

Today is the only day in the calendar where you can go out in fancy dress, holding a pumpkin, walk into a pub and exchange it for a drink.

Greene King pubs across the county are taking part in the special offer where punters can hand in the spooky fruit and get a free drink in return, including The Druid's Arms, in Maidstone.

Our reporter Jess Sharp, who is a big Halloween fan, went along to find out if it worked

Once inside the pub in Earl Street staff were puzzled at the offer of taking a pumpkin in return for either a glass of wine, a pint of bitter, a pint of lager or a coke.

But once we explained what we were talking about and showed them the information we had, they were happy to oblige and our orange friend was exchanged for a glass of Rose.

The terms and conditions linked to the offer mean only 10 drinkers will be able to claim the offer, so with a pumpkin in hand, you may want to head there quickly.

It is definitely one way to celebrate the scariest day of the year...
