A police helicopter was launched over the centre of Maidstone as police hunted a burglary suspect.

Gem Antiques in Gabriel's Hill was discovered to have been broken into just before the 9am opening.

Officers at the scene thought the culprit could still be in the area.

The helicopter search could not find the man and no arrests have been made.

The helicopter has now been stood down.
