Maidstone: Police carrying out inquiries after suspected stabbing outside Spar in Upper Fant Road

Police are carrying out door-to-door inquiries after reports a man was seriously assaulted outside a newsagents in Maidstone.

Emergency services were called to the area near Spar at the junction of Upper Fant Road and Bower Lane just after 7pm.

Officers are working to locate the victim, who's said to have left the scene after the incident.

Police parked on the corner of Upper Fant Road

A police spokesman said: "Inquiries to check his welfare are ongoing and officers are continuing to carry out inquiries into the circumstances behind the incident."

Unconfirmed reports on social media suggest he was stabbed.
