Maidstone: Immigration inquiries at businesses in the town centre

Police and Home Office agents have visited numerous businesses in Maidstone town centre this morning conducting immigration inquiries.

Officers have been spotted speaking to staff at King Barber in Middle Row, and businesses in Bank Street.

Officials have also visited premises on Gabriels Hill.

Immigration enforcement teams have also visited Gabriels Hill.

The operation involves police, immigration enforcement, officers from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, Kent County Council, and Maidstone Borough Council.

Officers were conducting inquiries at various shops, including King Barber in the High Street.

It's not yet known if anyone has been arrested.

Kent Police were unable to reveal any further details about the multi-agency operation.
