Roads around a retail park have now re-opened after a controlled explosion on a suspect package.

The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team carried out the explosion after the package was found near recycling bins in Sainsbury's car park at the Quarry Wood retail park.

Police will now carry out further inquiries into the suspicious item, which was found by refuse workers at the Aylesford site around 8.10am today.

A 100-metre cordon had been thrown around the site.
