A famous dancer was taken to a Kent hospital after collapsing at his home on Christmas Day.

James Jordan, from Medway, who is best known for his role in eight seasons of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing, was rushed to Pembury Hospital near Tunbridge Wells following the incident three days ago.

The 36-year-old, who came third this year's Celebrity Big Brother, reportedly felt ill all day and complained of chest pains before collapsing.

James' wife, Ola, 32 — who also competed on the show before her career was threatened by a leg injury sustained during Channel 4's winter sports reality show The Jump — has been at his bed side.

The couple, who live in Maidstone, have been married for 10 years, first competing against each other on the ballroom competition in 2006.

James has now been discharged from hospital and is back at home recovering. He tweeted to thank staff at the hospital for looking after him.

He also tweeted to update fans that he has got to return to hospital for further tests. On Tuesday he will undergo an endoscopy, when a camera will be inserted into his stomach. He added: "I'm scared".

A follower tweeted to say his dad was in the bed next to the Strictly star at the hospital and James helped cheer him up.
