To some of us, completing just one Rubik’s cube would be a major challenge but one man is going to take on 100 of them while running a 13-mile course.
Karl Savage, 35, from Waterlow Road, Maidstone, will have his hands full staging the mammoth fundraising effort which will take place through the streets of Maidstone. It is of course, all for charity.
And to demonstrate his Rubik’s prowess prior to the event, he has already recorded a promotional video, filmed in the subway at the bottom of the High Street, Maidstone, where he completes the 100 cubes, in the shape and colours of the Depaul UK logo, the charity that will benefit from his wacky stunt.
Mr Savage said: “I’m not very quick at doing a Rubik’s cube; it takes me about a minute and a half, which isn’t very quick. I won’t be running very quickly either while I’m doing them.”
While some would say a minute and a half is not a long time, the record for the fastest solving of a Rubik’s Cube belongs to Australian teenager Feliks Zemdegs who can complete the puzzle in just a fraction over six seconds.
Mr Savage will be collecting in the town centre prior to his run, from 9am, on Saturday, January 28.
