Queen's Platinum Jubilee: When Kent pharmacies are open over the bank holiday

Here is everything you need to know about when pharmacies are open this Jubilee weekend.

As the four-day weekend approaches its is expected to a busy time for the NHS as people celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee event.

A select few pharmacies in the county will be open over Jubilee weekend

The NHS is encouraging people to collect repeat prescriptions and stock up on essentials like painkillers, plasters and indigestion remedies ahead of the bank holiday

The service is hoping to help avoid any unnecessary trips to A&E and is asking people to check online to find out which pharmacies are open.

A select few are going to be open to treat minor illnesses, such as diarrhoea, a runny nose, a cough, or a headache.

Here is where in Kent will be open:

Ashford

There will be six pharmacies across Ashford opening on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest opens at 9am, while the latest closes at 4pm.

Canterbury

There will be five pharmacies opened across Canterbury open on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest will open at 8.30am, with the latest closing at 5.30pm.

Cranbrook

In Cranbrook the White Lion House, High Street, will be closed on Thursday, but will open its doors again on Friday from 10am to 1pm.

Dover and Deal

There will be two pharmacies open in Dover and Deal on Thursday and Friday.

Tesco Pharmacy will be open on Thursday and Friday between 9am and 1pm at White Cliffs Business Park, Honeywood Close, Whitfield, Dover.

While Boots Chemists will also be open on both days in High Street, Deal, between 10am and 4pm.

Folkestone

In Folkestone there will be three pharmacies opens on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest opens at 10am, while the latest shuts at 2pm.

Gravesend and Dartford

There will be six pharmacies opened across Gravesend and Dartford open on Thursday and Friday.

All of them will be open from 10am to 4pm.

Maidstone, Malling and Aylesford

There will be four pharmacies opened across Maidstone, Malling, Aylesford and Otham on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest will open at 9am, with the latest closing at 5pm.

Medway

There will be eight pharmacies opened across the Medway Towns open on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest will open at 9am, with the latest closing at 6pm.

New Romney and Lydd

There will be two pharmacies open in New Romney and Lydd on Thursday and Friday.

Well in High Street, Lydd, will be open on Thursday between 10am and 1pm.

While the Lloyds Pharmacy High Street, New Romney, will be open from 10am to 1pm on Friday.

Ramsgate and Whitstable

There will be nine pharmacies opened across Ramsgate and Whitstable open on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest will open at 9am, with the latest closing at 5pm.

Sevenoaks

In Sevenoaks there will be two pharmacies opens on Thursday and Friday at Boots Chemists in High Street, Sevenoaks, and at Lloyds Pharmacy in Sainsbury.

Both will be open from 10am to 4pm.

Swale

There will be five pharmacies opened across Sittingbourne, Sheppey and Faversham open on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest will open at 8.30am, with the latest closing at 5.30pm.

Tenterden

Boots Chemists, High Street, in Tenterden will be open on Thursday from 10am to 1pm.

Tonbridge

In Tonbridge there will be three pharmacies opens on Thursday and Friday.

The earliest opens at 8.30am, while the latest shuts at 5.30pm.

Tunbridge Wells

There will be two pharmacies open in Tunbridge Wells on Thursday and Friday.

Boots Chemists in Calverley Road will be open both days from 9am to 6pm.

While the Lloyds Pharmacy inside Sainsburys in Linden Park Road will be open from 10am to 4pm on both days.

Dr Navin Kumta, NHS Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) chairman, said: “GP practices will be closed on Thursday, June 2 and Friday, June 3, so we're urging people who take regular medication to check they have enough to last.

“Please make sure your medicine cabinet is well stocked too – no one wants to spend the Jubilee driving around in search of the basics you thought were at the back of the cupboard.”
