A second incident on the M20 this evening caused traffic to slow down.

One lane has been closed just after junction 7 near Maidstone because of a broken down lorry.

Highways England says it would be shut for much of the evening because the vehicle needed a tyre changed.

A lorry has broken down and is causing traffic to slow down on the M20 near Maidstone

But it re-opened shortly before 8pm.

Heavy traffic is being reported on the Londonbound carriageway between the Maidstone services/Leeds Castle turning at junction 8 and the Detling Hill turning at junction 7.

It follows an earlier crash involving three vehicles on the coastbound carriageway between the M26 and Leybourne at junctions 3 to 4 earlier this evening.
