Lorry drivers warned

Lorry drivers are being warned to be on their guard after three men were arrested by police responding to a report of people acting suspiciously near a lorry parked on Detling Hill.

Police were called at about 1.20am last night to a layby on the Maidstone-bound carriageway of the A249 at Detling.

Officers, including dog handlers, went to the scene and arrested a 22-year-old man, from London, a 37-year-old man, from Essex, and a 49-year-old man, from London, on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle. All three men have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
