Police made two arrests after a lorry driver heard “loud banging” coming from his vehicle in Maidstone.

Officers were called to the Sittingbourne Road park and ride site at 8.48am this morning after a report that there were suspected illegal immigrants in the back of the lorry.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers attended and two men have been taken into custody.”
