A failed hedge fund boss has been jailed for 13 years after being found guilty of eight counts of fraud, forgery and deception.

Magnus Peterson, from Otham, was handed the sentence at Southwark Crown Court today following a three-month high-profile trial.

The court had previously heard how the collapse of the 51-year-old's hedge fund, Weavering, left investors £377million out of pocket.

Magnus Peterson, 51, has been jailed for 13 years

On Monday the Swede, who lives in Honey Lane, was found guilty of eight of 16 charges which had been brought against him.

The verdict brings to an end a six-year investigation by the UK Serious Fraud Office and makes Peterson the first hedge fund manager to be jailed for wrongdoing linked to the 2008 financial crash.
