PUPILS of Maidstone Girls' Grammar School gathered at Leeds Castle to hold their Leavers' Ball. This would be the last time the year was together as a whole, and thus, whilst the evening was hugely enjoyable, it also allowed those present to reminisce.

The evening opened with guests arriving in style, many having hired limos, and one group even arriving by horse drawn carriage.

Despite the bad weather, Leeds Castle produced a beautiful backdrop and spirits were not dampened. Laughter and smiles filled the Fairfax Hall as friends reunited once more. The ladies sparkled in stunning ballgowns, and even the men looked smart in their tuxes.

A speech from the head students began the evening, thanking the guests for seven fantastic years and wishing them every success for the future.

The three-course meal that followed was delightful. A mixture of good food, a few glasses of wine and excellent company set the evening off to a fine start.

A disco followed, with a mixture of modern tunes and 'cheesy classics'. Guests set the dance floor alight, and even some of the teachers showed some classic (or Jurassic) moves. The time seemed to fly by, and it was all too soon before the couples took to the dance-floor for the last time.

All those who attended had a memorable evening, and it was a fabulous way to end their time together at MGGS.

A huge thank you should be given to Mr Robson for all the time he put into making the evening a success. We are also grateful to all those at Leeds Castle for hosting such a fantastic event.

We wish MGGS Leavers all the best for everything they go on to do in the future.
