There is now a new app dedicated to Maidstone.

The town has become the first in the south east to launch a tourism app, for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Hundreds of companies are listed on the digital product and are split into five categories - What's On, Food and Drink, Places to Visit, Where to Stay and Shopping.

It is the brainchild of Maidstone council, which has so far not disclosed how much the scheme has cost taxpayers.
