Veteran powerlifter Dave Mannering took on the world’s best and triumphed to add another title to his impressive collection.

Mannering, who trains at the Ministry of Muscle Gym, claimed the World Powerlifting Congress world powerlifting bench press title after recording a world record weight of 195kg in the 75kg masters class.

Mannering was one of five Maidstone-based lifters to return from Bournemouth as winners, with Gina Iaquaniello claiming golds in the 52kg powerlifting and the bench press competition, setting a British record in the process.

Callum Cook, 23, was another double gold medallist, winning both the open 75kg class and the bench press category.
