Maidstone United boss Alan Walker is in the market for extra firepower

A six-point haul from the next two games is the target for Maidstone as their focus returns to the Ryman League Premier Division.

After 2-0 defeats in the third round of the FA Trophy at Salisbury last Saturday and the Ryman League Cup third round at Tilbury on Wednesday, Stones can now concentrate on their league form, which has been inconsistent at best this season.

Just 14 points separate the relegation zone from the play-off places ahead of Saturday's trip to Aveley and Tuesday’s clash against Hendon at Homelands.

Stones find themselves 12th, 10 points off the top five but with as many as three games in hand on some of their rivals.

Joint-boss Alan Walker (pictured) said: "It is a good chance for six points. We beat Aveley quite well at home and they were good going forward but not so good defensively.

"We will be looking to make sure we are strong at the back because we always have the ability to score goals.

"Then we have Hendon at home on Tuesday and we have had a poor record at home this season. We have had a talk with the boys."

Gabriel Odunaike is a doubt after receiving a kick at Tilbury in midweek but Roland Edge (calf), Jermaine Darlington, Nick Barnes (both hamstring), keeper Jamie Turner (shoulder), Tom Parkinson (knee) and midfielder
Jay Saunders are all set to return.
