The revolving door at Maidstone United has continued to spin this week as boss Andy Ford overhauls his squad.

Stones are looking to play their first game in nearly three weeks when they host Tooting & Mitcham in the Ryman League Premier Division at Homelands on Saturday, and the Stones side looks set to feature more changes.

Ford, pictured, was hoping to sign a striker on loan from a higher-division team and had also brought in Sevenoaks forward Richie Stevens, with Jake Hobbs moving in the opposite direction.

An un-named Stones man will also be joining a higher-division side on loan before the weekend.

Meanwhile, Dover defender Dean Hill will play his final game in Stones colours.

Ford said: "It will be Dean’s last game for us. I wanted him on loan for the rest of the season but he wants to go back to Dover and give it a last try there.

"He gave us a bit of steel back there which we needed and it is a blow for us. I am working on another player to come in but it won’t be until after the weekend."

He added: "Richie has joined on a non-contract basis. I will take a bit of time to have a look at him and see what he can give us."

The enforced lay-off means the Stones’ injury worries have eased with Alex Flisher (groin) fit to return.
