Snodland man arrested after crash in East Farleigh close to Maidstone

A man has been arrested after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash which destroyed part of a wall in a village close to Maidstone.

Police were called to Vicarage Lane in East Farleigh shortly after 4pm yesterday.

When they arrived the driver of the green Ford Focus had reportedly left the scene.

Officers later arrested a 35-year-old man from Snodland on suspicion of drink-driving and assault in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone.

He has been released on bail pending further inquiries until Saturday, February 13.

Firefighters were also called after reports the car had caught alight, but didn't find any signs of fire when they arrived.

Paramedics also attended. It is unclear if the man suffered any injuries.
