Police officers among four injured in assaults at the Ashes bar, Market Buildings, Maidstone

A man has been arrested after town centre violence left four people injured, including two police officers.

The 47-year-old was quizzed after trouble flared at the Ashes bar in the Market Buildings in Maidstone around 6.15pm on Friday.

A police spokesman said patrolling officers were told a member of staff and a customer had been assaulted.

While they tried to arrest a man, they were also attacked.

A 47-year-old was arrested on suspicion of assault and assaulting an emergency worker.

He has has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
