Man arrested in Mote Park, Maidstone after paedophile hunting group call police

A man has been charged with a child sex offence following a sting by a vigilante group.

Police were called to Mote Park in Maidstone by 'paedophile hunting organisation' The Hunted One, who videoed the exchange, on Saturday night.

The 15-minute footage ends with police arriving, and the man being put in the back of a squad car.

Peter Allan, 62, from Sittingbourne, appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court via a video link today, having been charged with one count of arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday, May 1.
