Police investigating death of Peter Tomlin in Leybourne release 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter

A 47-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter after a death in Maidstone has been released without charge.

The man was arrested by police investigating the death of 42-year-old Peter Tomlin in John Street, Maidstone

Mr Tomlin, of Old Orchard Lane, Leybourne, was pronounced dead at a property in the street on Friday, September 6.

Police had asked the Mid Kent and Medway coroner’s office to delay their examination into his death for them to progress the investigation.

An inquest is expected to be opened soon.
