Maidstone: Man assaulted with piece of wood in Knightrider Street

Two people have been arrested after a man was reportedly attacked in the street with a piece of wood.

Officers received a report that a man in his 30s was outside an address in Knightrider Street at around 8pm yesterday when he was assaulted by another man.

The man got out of an MG3 car which was parked in Knightrider Court, crossed the road and assaulted the victim.

A woman who was with the suspect shouted something, and then they both left the scene in the car.

The victim suffered facial cuts and bruises, and was treated by paramedics.

A 31-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman, both from the Maidstone area, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of assault, and remain in police custody.

Those arrested are said to be known to the victim.
