Jack Reader charged by police after knife-wielding robber stole cash from village shop in Chart Corner, Chart Sutton

Detectives have charged a man in their hunt for a knife-wielding robber who stole cash from a village shop in Maidstone.

Police were called to the premises at Chart Corner in Chart Sutton on January 21.

Following enquiries, officers arrested 20-year-old Jack Reader near Terrace Road on Wednesday, and he has since been charged with robbery and possessing a knife in a public place.

Mr Reader, of no fixed address, will appear by video link before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
