A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm after an investigation into a riverside assault.

Lee David Chamberlain, 34, of Bligh Way, Rochester has been released on bail and is due back before Maidstone magistrates on August 4 for a plea and case management hearing.

A 47-year-old man was released without charge.

The two were arrested after an incident on May 7 where a man was attacked by the River Medway in Maidstone.
