Man charged with spitting at police officers

A man has been charged with spitting in the faces of police officers.
It comes after police were called to reports of a disturbance in St Peter’s Street, Maidstone, during the early hours of yesterday.
They entered a property shortly after 1am, when it is alleged a man spat in the faces of two officers.
Callen Chandler-Jones, aged 22 and of Home Close, Wolvercote, Oxford was arrested and later charged with two counts of assaulting a police constable during the execution of their duty.
He has been remanded in custody to appear via virtual link before Medway Magistrates’ Court later today.
