Man dies after falling from Crescent Road Car Park in Tunbridge Wells

A man has died after falling from a multi-storey car park.

The air ambulance was flown out to Tunbridge Wells town centre yesterday as Crescent Road Car Park was cordoned off.

Witnesses saw paramedics attempting to resuscitate a man at the scene.

Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex confirmed it received a call just before 3pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed the man was from Crawley, West Sussex.

He added: "A man aged in his 40s was declared deceased at the scene.

"His next of kin have been informed and his death isn't being treated as suspicious.

"A report will be prepared for the coroner."

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: " Ambulance crews attended along with the air ambulance service. Sadly the person died at the scene."

The four storey car park, which is operated by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council, was cordoned off and there was a large police presence in the town centre.

Officers were seen in Monson Road and at the Calverly Grounds nearby.
