Railway death "not suspicious" say police

Train were suspended between Headcorn and Pluckley for two hours last night after a man was killed on the line.

A replacement bus service operated between the two stations after the incident which occurred just outside Pluckley Station around 7.25pm.

The man was hit by the 6.08pm service from Cannon Street to Margate.

The fatality occurred close to Pluckley Station

Medics attended, but declared him dead at the scene.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious. Normal services were resumed by 9.30pm.

An inquest will be held into the death. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
