Man seriously injured after bump starting car in Maidstone

A man remains in a critical condition after being run over by his own car.

The victim was attempting to bump start his red Fiat Doblo on Bower Street, Maidstone, when the vehicle picked up speed wedging him between the open door and a stationary Ford Fiesta.

The accident at 2.20pm on Sunday left the driver with serious injuries to his chest, lower arm and stomach and saw him airlifted to St George's Hospital in London.

Police have been called to the scene

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
