VICTIM: Jimmy Brooker

A MAN accused of the murder of a father-of-six from Kent appeared in court on Friday.

Jamie Potter, 34, of Felderland Close, Maidstone, is alleged to have stabbed 39-year-old Jimmy Brooker to death earlier this month.

Mr Brooker was found at the Washington House block of flats in Wallis Avenue, Park Wood, Maidstone. He was taken to Maidstone Hospital but died a few hours later.

Shaven-headed Potter appeared at Maidstone Crown Court via a TV link with Elmley Prison.

Judge Jeremy Carey was told there had been no indication of plea to the charge of murder and that the case involved "quite complex forensic evidence".

The hearing was therefore adjourned until November 24 when, on this occasion, Potter is expected to enter a plea.

There was no application for bail and Potter was remanded in custody. He spoke only to confirm his name and to thank the judge at the end of the hearing.
