Two teens arrested after man in his 40s left with serious head injuries after attack in Maidstone town centre

Two men have been arrested after a serious assault in the town.

The victim, a man in his 40s, was walking along out of Maidstone town centre when he was approached by three men who had got out of a vehicle.

It's thought the men chased the victim towards the junction of King Street and Sittingbourne Road, where he was assaulted just after 11pm on Sunday, December 19,

He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to a London hospital for treatment. The victim has since been discharged.

On Tuesday two men from Maidstone, both 19, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

They were taken into custody and later released pending further investigation.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses and are urging anyone with information to call the appeal line on 01622 604100, quoting reference 46/261660/21.
