A pedestrian is recovering after being knocked over by a hit-and-run driver - who then ploughed into him a second time.

The 31-year-old man was struck by a dark estate car which jumped a red light in Well Road, Maidstone.

As he got up, the driver reversed and hit him again before making off in the direction of Sittingbourne Road.
