Two arrests after disturbance in King Street, Maidstone leaves man seriously injured

A man has been bailed and another released without charge after a man was seriously injured in an assault in Maidstone town centre.

Police were called to a disturbance in King Street shortly before 2.30am yesterday.

A man suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital. He has since been discharged.

Two men from Maidstone, aged 23 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

The 23-year-old has been bailed, pending further enquiries, until Friday, December 9. The 26-year-old was released without charge.
