Sainsbury's Local robbery in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, sparks Kent Police manhunt

A darkly-clad robber waiting in a queue pushed a Sainsbury's Local worker before raiding the till and fleeing.

Police are hunting a man following the incident in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, shortly before 10.30pm yesterday.

The incident happened on Tonbridge Road, Maidstone.

A spokesman for the force said: "After waiting in a queue of customers, he reportedly pushed a member of staff and stole cash from a till.

"He then ran off along an alleyway towards Elmstone Lane and Woodford Road."

The suspect was wearing black trainers, dark tracksuit bottoms, a black hooded top and a black facemask, police said.
