Gyratory works in Maidstone: Traffic lights fail

The Maidstone Gyratory is set to cause yet more chaos after the traffic lights at the junction before the bridge system failed this afternoon.

Engineers are currently working to restore the signals at Fairmeadow, with motorists warned to expect delays.

The gyratory works are a £5.7million project to ease congestion around the town centre.

Work continues on the redesign of the gyratory system at Fairmeadow, Maidstone

The road is expected to open next Thursday, more than five months after the project started.
