Helicopter and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers called in to search for missing man around Mote Park and Maidstone Hospital

A large scale search for a missing man saw a police officers, a force helicopter and volunteers scouring the area near a hospital and a park.

The man was reported missing from the Howard Drive area of Maidstone at 6.25 last night.

He was found this morning after the search intensified in the early hours, Kentonline understands.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "At 6.25pm on Friday, July 17, a man was reported missing from the Howard Drive area of Maidstone.

"He has since been safely located following a search."

The areas around Mote Park and the hospital in Hermitage Lane were the main locations searched.
