An 11-year-old schoolgirl missing from Maidstone since yesterday has been found.

Maria Tanton-Davies was last seen in the Oakwood Park area on Friday afternoon.

Officers carried out a number of inquiries and then launched an appeal for information.

As a result, she was found safe and well around noon today.

The 4ft 4in tall girl with brown, shoulder-length hair had been wearing black leggings with flat dolly shoes, a white shirt and a grey blazer.
