A PENSIONER who crashed her mobility scooter after knocking back brandy and cokes has been banned from driving for two years.

Brenda Jones, 64, of Shepway Court, Maidstone, hit a car waiting to pull out into Loose Road, then tried to drive off, stopping only when her buggy overturned.

Maidstone magistrates heard she was on her way to the bank to get rent money for one of her sons.

The crash caused around £1,000 worth of damage to the vehicle and Mrs Jones was charged with drink driving, which she admitted in court a few weeks ago.
