Drivers were hit with serious delays on the M20 following a crash and a lorry break down.

Motorists travelling London bound were forced to contend with extra traffic in the roadworks area between Junction 4 at Leybourne and Snodland and Junction 3 at Borough Green with one lane closed due to an accident.

The crash involved a car and a lorry.

Further East a broken down HGV was causing another lane closure between Junction 9 at Ashford and Junction 8 at Leeds but has since been cleared.

A second broken down vehicle on the M20 exit slip road at J12 with Ashford Road also left the route partially blocked earlier.

The motorway is now clear with all lanes open and traffic has returned to normal.
