Fans clamour to see McFly perform at Music on the Hill

The buzz created by Music on the Hill will no doubt continue long after the stage has been dismantled following three days of fantastic performances.

Today ended with tribute band Killer Queen who closed the family day with foot-stomping classics from the band's well-known play list. They brought three days of music to a dance-filled draw, with the stage having witnessed the likes of McFly, Peter Andre, Bucks Fizz, Stooshe and Jools Holland.

The appreciative audience numbered in its thousands for the music fest in aid of charities Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Teens Unite Fighting Cancer and The Children's Development Trust.

Jools and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra kicked off the weekend, joined by the sensational Roland Gift and Ruby Turner who had the sun-soaked audience on its feet from the moment they stepped on stage.

Watching from the plantation-themed VIP lounge designed by Karen Millen were a host of celebrities from the world of fashion, music, television and even track and field, some of whom pledged money-can't-buy experiences to raise further funds for the event's three charities.

Among the silent auction lots were a dance session for six with former EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy, a group dinner cooked and hosted by Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker and a personal training session with British 100m champion Dwain Chambers.

Other celebrities mingling with the crowds included comic Vic Reeves and his TV personality wife Nancy Sorrell, actor and singer Shaun Williamson, DJ Dave Berry and X-Factor winner Joe McElderry.

The well-organised event, the second of its kind in Kent, went down a storm with the audience who soaked up the sun and the outstanding entertainment.

One mum wiggling her way through The Counterfeit Stones' set said: "What a great day, unbelievably good fun. I can't afford Mick Jagger, but who needs him when you've got this band which sounds equally as good!"
