Need a dentist? There's an app for that

You've heard of bluetooth on mobile phones - now here's your tooth.

Staplehurst Dental Practice is claiming to be the first dentist in the world to be able to check his patient's teeth on an iPhone.

Using the Smile Assessment app, people can take a picture of their smile and send it to dentist Dr Jan Einfeldt who can use it to make an assessment for cosmetic treatments, ranging from dental implants to teeth straightening.

The app also enables patients to directly make or change appointments with the Staplehurst Dental Practice.

Dr Einfeldt said: "With mobile phones so much a part of people’s lives now, the app seemed the perfect way for customers to send us their smile while on the move so we can assess their suitability far quicker than having to come to the practice, saving precious time for them.

"The fact everyone has their phone with them constantly means we’re able to engage with them instantly."
