POLICE have made a fresh appeal for information about an assault in which a 25-year-old man was assaulted with a shovel.

The incident happened on August 28 in Week Street, Maidstone. Police believe the man was struck over the head with what may have been a shovel following an argument with another man. He suffered cuts to the head.

A description of the offender has been released. He is white, aged 20 to 25, 5ft 8ins tall, with short brown hair. He was wearing dark jeans or trousers and a white t-shirt with an emblem or writing on it.

It is believed he made off from the scene in a car, with another man in the passenger seat.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Martin Giles on 01622 608182, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
