New solution to attack on truckers

VIOLENT attacks on commercial drivers, while they sleep, are becoming increasingly common across Britain?

According to recent figures, there were more than 1,800 jump up thefts in the UK in 2001, with almost five per cent of these taking place in Kent.

For 2002 the National Stolen Lorry Load Desk is anticipating more than 4,000 incidents of lorry related crime. The problem of jump ups is even worse in Europe, with Russia, Italy, Belgium and Spain marked out as black spots by regular hauliers.

The epidemic is spreading throughout Britain.

The trend is made more horrific with the current fashion in gas attacks. Gas is sprayed into the air vents while the haulier sleeps, leaving the driver defenceless and giving the thieves time to break in and take whatever they want.

It’s a crime truckers are expected to face every day. One victim of two such attacks, John Jones, has taken a pro-active stance to the problem and invented a security device for hauliers.

Protekdor is a system which firmly secures the door and window against unwanted entry.

It is a highly visible and effective deterrent and is preventing many others suffering from gas attacks at the hands of thieves.

The company is now winning recognition for Protekdor throughout the country, netting orders and unprecedented interest from trucking giants such as Pulleyns and Scania.
