AN APPEAL for information has been made by detectives after a boy of 16 suffered a fractured jaw in an unprovoked attack.

The incident happened in Postley Road, Maidstone, on Friday, March 9, at around 9.15pm.

The teenager was with friends when a passing group of around ten youths began to shout at them. The victim and his companions felt threatened and began to run towards the town centre.

The victim then suddenly felt something hit his face, although he did not see what had been thrown at him. He returned home and later attended hospital where it was confirmed that he had suffered a fracture to his jaw.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Mark Whewell-Jones on 01622 604283, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 – this call is free and confidential.
