Instead Father Christmas took to the River Medway on a paddleboard.

Passers-by spotted jolly old Saint Nick paddling down the river on December 9, past the Archbishop's Palace and Brenchley Gardens.

With no sack full of presents in tow, we can only assume he was visiting the county to find out who's been naughty and who's been nice.
