Police investigating an attempted theft from a Maidstone hardware store have charged two men.

Officers were called to Barker Road at 3.51pm last Thursday, after two men were spotted acting suspiciously.

Patrols went to the scene and stopped a car nearby in Hart Street.

Two Coventry men, Richard Campbell, 43, and 42-year-old Neil Cunningham have been charged with attempted theft and were bailed to appear before Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, May 2.
