The former Beths Grammar School in Bexley pupil said: "Nina and I are pleased to announce the birth of our second child, Edward William Thomas Scott, yesterday morning.

"He arrived a little prematurely, but he is doing exceptionally well so far. My wife has been amazing throughout and is doing well too."

Edward is the couple's first son, as they currently live in Swanley with their daughter.

Mr Scott was elected as PCC in 2016, taking the reins from Ann Barnes.

Based from Maidstone but working across the county, the PCC's role is to speak on behalf of the people and hold Kent Police to account.

The next PCC elections will be on May 7, 2020.
