A woman has been hit by a car in Maidstone town centre.

The accident, involving a pedestrian and a black Toyota Starlet car, happened around 3.22pm in Wat Tyler Way, near Sainsbury's.

Police, a fast response paramedic and ambulance are at the scene.

The woman suffered minor head injuries and has been taken to Maidstone Hospital.

The road has been partially closed.
